(CONNECT) Axpo from Baden in the Swiss canton of Aargau and etaeval from Horw in the canton of Lucerne are presenting two jointly developed solutions for operators of hydroelectric power plants at HYDRO 2025, which is set to take place October 22-24 in the Greek city of Thessaloniki. According to a company statement, live demonstrations of their new approaches to system condition monitoring, model-based performance optimization and cross-operational insights will be available throughout the trade fair. The two companies are among Swiss exhibitors present at the event as part of the SWISS Pavilion.
Hydro Insights was developed in direct collaboration between data science experts, engineers and the operators of Axpo hydroelectric power plants and is designed to address real-world operational needs. Hydro Insight is a centralized internet application that provides access to all operating data at any time and any place, in addition to analyzing this measurement data. It combines SCADA data from existing monitoring and control systems with analytics and decision support to detect anomalies, increase availability, reduce operating costs and generate efficiency gains. In contrast, etahydro is a comprehensive solution package for operators of high and medium-pressure hydroelectric power plants who are confronted with harmful suspended solids in the water and who wish to initiate inspections as required.
“Hydroelectric power plant operators require actionable insights, not arduous data analysis”, as Emmeline Stempfel, Business Development Manager at Axpo, states. “With Hydro Insights, we transform system data into decision-making capabilities, from early fault detection to targeted performance improvements. In combination with our etahydro modules and employee support tools, teams have the ability to standardize best practices at scale, act faster and work more safely”. ce/mm
