(CONNECT) The energy service provider Axpo, which is headquartered in Baden in the Swiss canton of Aargau, has signed a short-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with the green energy supplier EDF Renewables Hellas from Athens. According to a statement, Axpo will take over the entire combined electricity output from two EDF solar power plants in the Viotia region of Greece. The plants have an installed capacity of 120 megawatts.
“This agreement reinforces Axpo’s ability to provide innovative and tailored renewable energy solutions across central and south-eastern Europe,” Axpo Greece Managing Director Vasilis Machias is quoted as saying. “By leveraging our expertise as an international market leader in renewables, wholesale trading and risk management, we’re further optimising our portfolio in the region, while also supporting the energy transition.”
Antonis Xenios, CEO of EDF Renewables Hellas, said he was thrilled about the partnership with Axpo. “This collaboration reinforces EDF Renewables' dedication to maximise the potential of renewable energy and accelerate the energy transition, contributing to the decarbonisation of the Greek economy," he said.
