IDAK Food Group acquires the French company Onoré
(CONNECT) The IDAK Food Group from Spreitenbach in the canton of Aargau has announced the strategic acquisition of Onoré, a French company based in Toulouse, in a statement. Following the takeover, changes are being made at executive level: Christof Lehmann, former CEO of IDAK, is moving to sit on the Group’s Board of Directors; his successor is current Onoré CEO Alexandre Vigneron.
IDAK makes frozen goods in the categories of Pizza & Snacks, Finger Food & Potato Snacks and Baked Goods & Pastries. The acquisition represents a strategic move in the direction of the company’s stated aim of becoming a “pan-European company in the premium frozen food sector”, according to the statement. Through this acquisition, the Group is seeking to broaden its offerings in the Baked Goods & Pastries category and plans to grow with a complementary portfolio in the key European markets of France and the UK. In 2025, the frozen food producer IDAK employed 1,300 staff and generated sales of more than 330 million Swiss francs. Onoré is broadly diversified and a firm fixture on the French and UK markets. It manufactures frozen baked goods, snacks, pastries and desserts for the national and international food service industry and retail sector at five production facilities in France and two in the UK.
The change at executive level took place at the request of the outgoing IDAK CEO Christof Lehmann. As a new member of the Board of Directors, he intends to “provide guidance to his successor and will continue to actively support the company’s future direction”. Lehmann comments: “This change comes at the perfect time and represents continuous and forward-looking leadership”.
Under the leadership of Alexandre Vigneron, the company’s focus will remain on making products inspired by European cuisine. “Our group’s approach is based on clear market positioning and premium craftsmanship with a European touch, as well as a presence in four core markets”, Vigneron stated in connection with his new role. ce/heg
