SR Technics starts operations at new Bad Zurzach site

Bad Zurzach/Kloten - SR Technics is now operating a new location in Bad Zurzach. This third site is designed to allow the provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for jet engines to supplement its two test cells at Zurich Airport.

(CONNECT) Under the name SR Technics Zurzach, SR Technics has commenced operations at a new site in Bad Zurzach in the canton of Aargau located in the former production halls of the company Mineralquelle Zurzach AG. The supplier of MRO services for aircraft engines intends to carry out maintenance operations quickly and efficiently at this site to ensure that the airplanes are able to return to service as soon as possible, as detailed in a statement. The engines are transported via trucks to Bad Zurzach, where they are worked on for several weeks. The first one being overhauled at the company's new location is a Transavia Airlines CFM56-7B engine.

The company, which emerged from the technical department of Swissair founded in 1931, is one of the largest independent technical service providers for the civil aviation sector in the world. Its headquarters and two test cells are based at Zurich Airport in Kloten in the canton of Zurich. SR Technics also operates branches in Europe, Asia, Australia, the USA and the United Arab Emirates.

“The start of operations in Bad Zurzach, in close proximity to our two test cells in Zurich, reflects our commitment as a full-service provider to our customers,” explains Owen McClave, CEO of SR Technics. Pierre Berthelot, General Manager of SR Technics Zurzach, adds: “With dedicated Quick Turn and Field Assistance Services, we can respond immediately to customer needs, while continuing to invest in people, capabilities, and infrastructure”.

As the company explains further, its focus will now be on further expanding the new location over the course of 2026 and establishing additional technical competencies. In this spirit, the workforce is to be increased to around 100 employees. SR Technics plans to continuously further develop its Zurzach site in order to “support its growth initiatives”.

SR Technics is one of the exhibitors forming part of the SWISS Pavilion for the Singapore Airshow. The international aviation trade fair is taking place February 3-8. ce/mm
