UpBoards and Recoplast join forces under BOXS

Gretzenbach/Buchs - BOXS has acquired Recoplast. Since August, BOXS subsidiary UpBoards had been managing Recoplast's operational business. Under the umbrella of BOXS, the companies are now pooling their expertise in plastic waste streams and leveraging synergies.

(CONNECT) The plant manufacturer BOXS AG, from Buchs in the Swiss canton of Aargau, has acquired the Gretzenbach-based plastics recycler Recoplast AG in the Swiss canton of Solothurn. Recoplast's operational business had been managed by BOXS subsidiary UpBoards GmbH since August. UpBoards manufactures and sells recycled panels, with its production site located in Gretzenbach. According to a statement, the takeover will enable the two companies to pool their expertise and leverage synergies in a targeted way. The existing teams will remain in place.

The founders of BOXS AG and UpBoards GmbH, Raphael Markstaller and Yannick Tuch, say they are proud that the company now has an even broader base. With the takeover, the companies can reportedly offer a joint range of services, from shredding and granulation to sheet production and application solutions. Ultimately, the expanded expertise and synergies gained can further increase reliability and quality, according to the statement. UpBoards has confirmed that the existing contacts will remain available, including Beat Bolzhauser, Marc Horta, Martin Zajac, and Adrian Bircher.

The goal of the integration is to reduce distances and facilitate an even more comprehensive focus on sustainability. “This will enable us to lay the foundations for a strong shared future,” writes the statement. The team has set itself the goal of becoming the number one choice for customers in the scope of the circular economy for plastic waste streams. The range of products on offer is broad, it writes: “Made in Switzerland from Swiss raw materials, for Switzerland.”

The acquisition was negotiated privately and financed by a capital increase from BOXSAG's existing shareholders and new shareholders. ce/nta
