(CONNECT) Omya AG from Oftringen in the Swiss canton of Aargau has completed the acquisition of Gulf Lime Co LLC, as detailed in a statement. Gulf Lime is a calcium carbonate processing company based in Abu Dhabi and boasts state-of-the-art production facilities across the region.
The takeover will allow Omya to strengthen its presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and meet customer needs in the region more effectively. “Gulf Lime’s strategic location and state-of-the-art production facilities will support business growth and improve service to key markets”, as the company writes in its statement. Moreover, the acquisition complements Omya’s existing operations, which will enable the company to invest in its long-term growth.
Omya is a global distributor of specialty materials and a global producer of essential minerals. The Group, which operates 160 plants around the world in addition to three technology centers located in Switzerland, the USA and Singapore, produces natural mineral products on the basis of calcium carbonate, dolomite and perlite. ce/nta
