(CONNECT) According to a statement, DECTRIS, a manufacturer of high-performance hybrid-pixel X-ray and electron detectors from Baden in the Swiss canton of Aargau, will be present at the IUCr 2026, a crystallography congress and general assembly taking place August 11-18, 2026, in Calgary in the Canadian province of Alberta. DECTRIS will be launching its new JUNGFRAU detector during the event, in addition to conducting live demonstrations using the DECTRIS D.LAB, among other activities. Scientific lectures and workshops are also on the agenda.
On August 14, the company will launch the new DECTRIS JUNGFRAU during a lunchtime seminar. This is the company’s first charge-integrating detector designed for the extreme flux of fourth generation synchrotrons. According to the company, it captures the full signal regardless of pulse length.
DECTRIS will also be present with its DECTRIS D.LAB, which was previously known as the DECTRIS CLOUD. D.LAB unifies data, tools, computing power and lab analyses in one central location. Visitors can look forward to live demonstrations as well as the Rocky Lab Challenge, where they will have the chance to win an iPad.
The company will also hold various presentations and a workshop. These include a presentation on the performance limits of HPC detectors in laboratory X-ray applications by Senior Product Manager Marcus Müller, and a talk on the automated benchmarking of synchrotron MX datasets by Camilla Larsen, who works as a Scientific Solution Architect at DECTRIS.
The DECTRIS party on August 14 at the Big Four Roadhouse will provide additional entertainment for the participants. ce/nta
